The spirit of the time

Barbarossa’s chandelier
The chandelier is a replica of the one commissioned by Emperor Frederick Barbarossa for the Palatine Chapel, which was dedicated to Charlemagne in Aachen Cathedral.
The fresco
The picture on the wall comes from the historical depiction of the assembly of Placito Risano by Triest’s artist Giuseppe Barison.
Plečnik
The solid walnut chairs in the dining room were designed by the famous Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik.

Stone hand-hewn fireplace casing.
Interwoven in history
The original sofas and other objects from the 19th century, which were the property of the Gravisi, a noble family from Koper, interweave the medieval significance of past events with the modern history of the place.

The medieval legend comes to life in the round table and chairs found in the middle of the restaurant. Everything is handmade from solid olive wood.
